Sapporo Soup Curry JACK Shinmachi — Restaurant in Osaka

Amazing soup curry. The flavour was perfect, so fragrant and not too oily, and the grilled vegetables on top were delicious, particularly the broccoli. I also got cheese on my rice and the flavour was wonderful with the curry.

I only got a mild curry as there was a warning about how hot even the regular spicy but it really was mild with no heat at all. In future I would get regular or hot, but the flavour was still nice with no heat. You can drink a lassi as well.

It was easy to get a table at 6:30pm on a Friday, it seemed like they were mostly doing a lot of takeaway orders, but the restaurant was still at least half full. English...

The soup curry is flavourful, at first glance it looks oily but after finishing the dish there wasn’t any oily feeling on the lips. I had the seafood curry where a generous serving of seafood is served. The vegetables in the curry were grilled prior to mixing with the curry retaining the crispy texture of the veggie. I recommend level 6 spiciness as 3 would be quite mild.

When you see local Japanese salarymen flock to this place for lunch you know it’s going to be good, and they didn’t disappoint.

Really cool store and easily the best soup curry in Osaka! I haven’t tried a different place that comes close. Really delicious and hearty, the staff are super nice and friendly, and some nice art on the walls! English is limited but not impossible I’m sure. I recommend for tourists to get the ‘gekikara’ spice level, as this is very tolerable for a western palette. Good value too, slightly on the higher side but definitely worth it.
