The quality of this restaurant crossed the threshold for me to write my first Google review. It is a tiny 7-seater restaurant run by a single 75-year old man who has been running a sushi restaurant for 25 years. His English is extremely limited, but this did not stop him from engaging us in conversation to the extent of his ability. He recommended to us the chef's choice menu consisting of six delicious nigiri. We ordered a thick miso soup which he made from scratch on the spot, and a sea eel roll with cucumber which was delicious. I also ordered a squid legs nigiri on top which was amazing. He surprised us by giving us a complimentary hirame flounder nigiri and some strawberries for dessert at the end. What started as a spontaneous small hole-in-the-wall find ended up in one of the most memorable dining experiences during our week long trip to Japan....

The place is run by an experienced sushi chef. He makes everything fresh based on ingredients available. He does not speak English but that was not a problem for us. There is now an English menu, which the owner says a British university student helped him make.
