We decided to stop here a while after seeing Yasaka shrine. It's just down the street. We ordered a azuki-butter sweet potato, honey sweet potato and a hot sweet potato drink. Staff were quick to serve water but we didn't speak much Japanese so not much interaction. The sweet potato was so smooth and not mealy, and the melted butter went well with the hot sweet potato and azuki. The honey sweet potato is a cold dessert. I recently visited a sweet potato–themed restaurant that offers a wide variety of delicious food and drinks made with sweet potatoes. During my visit, I tried the Japanese sweet potato tart, the baked sweet potato with melted cheese and honey, and even a baked sweet potato drink.
