Wow. What an incredible experience! We came across this place while out walking and were intrigued by the beautiful Japanese garden visible through the front gate. The next day, our hotel front desk helped us make a reservation as we only speak English. The restaurant was happy to make a reservation that night for 7pm.
We arrived and were happily greeted by the front desk, who took our shoes and checked them for us. They then escorted us to our private room that had a balcony overlooking the garden and Tsutenkaku tower. We wished we had come during the daytime in order to enjoy the gardens and cherry blossoms better.
Dinner consisted of 8 courses of amazing food with incredibly thoughtful presentation. We had never had a traditional Japanese meal before, so we did not know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised.
The outstanding service, however, is what will leave an impression on us for years to come. Our waitress was kind and attentive, even though we could not communicate. Halfway through the meal, the male owner came to greet us and thanked us for coming to his restaurant. At the end of the meal, they all came outside with us in the pouring rain to help us hail a taxi and waited with us until we were in our car leaving. We were blown away by their kindness, generosity and friendliness!
I hope to come back to this restaurant one day and will forever be sending visitors my recommendation for this one of a...
Read moreThis was an unexpected find when we were en route to the Osaka art museum. It turns out that the museum was closed on a Monday and we came across this restaurant.
As this is a kaiseki restaurant, their menu is seasonal. During our visit 2 options were available - 6000JPY or the 15000JPY set. We opted for the former and we were not disappointed. At 6000JPY, this came up to around 70 plus sgd and is worth it in my opinion.
If you have been to a Ryokan, the level of service is impeccable and similar. You will be shown to a private room and a staff or two will be taking care of your needs throughout the course of the meal.
Needless to say, we love the food and will be coming back again. Probably in a different season just to check out what else they offer. It was a shame we could not visit their garden while we were there as it looks like it was meticulously tended to and offers a serene resting spot away from the chaotic tourists in...
Read moreFinding a place that can accommodate 13 people is no easy task, but this restaurant turned out to be the perfect choice. The room was spacious and comfortable, and on special days, they even offer live performances. The meal was incredibly lavish. It started with two appetizers, followed by sashimi, clear soup, grilled lobster, and seared salmon (I opted for grilled abalone and salmon instead). We also enjoyed a delightful serving of teppanyaki wagyu, ochazuke (tea-infused rice), and a selection of desserts and fruits. The food was not only beautifully presented but also delicious. Even though we were full by the end, we couldn't stop eating because everything was so tasty. A delightful surprise awaited us when we went downstairs to collect our shoes—they were warm! This attention to detail truly made us feel welcomed and cared for. If you have a large group and want to experience exquisite kaiseki cuisine, this place is...
