If you love exploring towns on foot, this place is a perfect fit for you.I had already visited Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori River before, so this time I wanted to explore a new area. The Tennoji area, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, has many attractions. For example, there's Tsutenkaku (a tower with an observation deck), and the Shinsekai area, which is full of local shops and gives you the feeling of stepping back in time to 40 or 50 years ago. Right next to these areas, there’s a large park that includes a zoo, a museum, and a historical mansion built in the Edo period. Shrines and temples can be found all around as well. The hotel is in a convenient location for walking around these spots. Since the hotel has a Buddhist theme, the interior isn’t luxurious, but it’s neat and clean. The room I stayed in (a superior single) had everything I needed. If you’re traveling with a large suitcase for a week-long trip, you might find it a bit tight to open it fully in the room, but it's spacious enough for 2–3 days' worth of luggage. It was also quiet at night. They provide many free amenities in the room, such as sandals for areas outside the tatami(green in the room photoes) space, a pair of socks, tea bags, a bottle of water, a toothbrush, and more.If you go out at night, note that the entrance door closes at 11 p.m., but you can still enter by tapping your room key on the reader next to the door. However, there is no front desk staff available late at night. I actually wanted to ask about a machine in the room (maybe an air purifier or humidifier) around 11 p.m., and tried calling the front desk, but no one answered. I hope they consider having at least one night staff member available. That was the only point I thought could be improved. As I didn’t add the (vegetarian) breakfast option, I bought some food near Ebisucho Station and kept it in the fridge in my room. There are many restaurants, convenience stores, and delis that stay open late, so you won’t have any trouble finding food. After checking out in the morning, I left my luggage at the hotel and walked to a café about 10 minutes away. I planned to explore the area afterward. I expected cooler weather because it was cloudy, so I wore a long-sleeved shirt, but it got warmer than expected. I decided to go back to the hotel to change clothes. The front desk staff was very kind and showed me to a large restroom where I could take off my shoes and put stuffs— very helpful!Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends when they...
Read moreWe only stayed a single night in Osaka, so we were in and out of this hotel pretty quickly. It is a lovely hotel, clean, with very good service and a very nice design aesthetic. Our room seemed to be a decent size. We had booked a room for 3 people, so the 3rd bed took up a fair amount of the floor space. That said, it was still quite a bit more spacious than the hotel we stayed at in Kyoto. The 2 primary beds in the room were the biggest we’ve had in Japan so far, they were probably both Full mattresses. However, the 3rd bed was an extremely hard mattress, and my son complained that it was uncomfortable.
The hotel is located in a somewhat quiet area, you won’t see a whole lot of tourists walking around, the street isn’t busy, and not many people walking about. The area seems to have quite a few automotive businesses, which, as an auto enthusiast, I found interesting, but others in my group were less interested.
This was towards the end of our japan trip and we were getting pretty tired so we used a taxi to get to and from the Dotonbori area. It’s a quick and inexpensive taxi ride, only about 5 minutes away by car. The hotel isn’t super close to any metro or rail stations, but seems to be equidistant to about 4 different stations.
There hotel was very accommodating in holding our luggage for us when we arrived in the morning, long before check-in, as well as holding it for us after we checked out. The only real inconvenience was that check-out is a little...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 days in the double room. Pros: nice, clean room, looks nice and simple when you step in, they have a small fridge, tea, slippers, usual bathroom amenities, they have a priest or monk that comes in once a day but we were busy around that time. Really friendly staff, they greet you when you come in, go out, try to help, etc.
Cons: room was a bit small, bathroom smelled humid and musky the 2 days we were there, it was also small and there wasn't a lot of room to move around, put products down, etc. Really bad WiFi that cut out a lot, No laundry machines in the building, check out is an hour earlier than usual, bed and especially pillow were horribly uncomfortable and flat, didn't enjoy that at all and didn't feel like I slept well, the area doesn't have anything and it's a bit of a walk to the 7-11,lawson,etc, as well as the subway was a 10 minute min walk, it got a little loud at times as some motorcycles and loud cars frequent the area. Overall, didn't love it here, I loved the staff and it's a nice building and overall concept but the rooms were lackluster for the cost and the area was inconvenient to get around in the last days we were there, I would recommend a bigger room for anyone staying with 2 people min if you don't...
