I arrived in Osaka on November 22nd and decided to check out this supposedly famous breakfast spot around 8am. After being seated, I noticed my table was quite wobbly, so I politely asked my server if I could move to the empty table next to me since I hadn't ordered yet. To my shock, the server gave me an impatient side-eye and abruptly said "NO" in the rudest way possible.
Perhaps it's some unspoken rule of Japanese restaurant etiquette that once you're seated, you're not allowed to change tables? If so, that was never explained to me. Regardless, in a country renowned for its exceptional service and hospitality in the food and beverage industry, I was appalled to encounter such poor treatment, especially over a simple request made before even ordering.
Suffice it to say, this soured my experience and I won't be returning to this place. So much for their "famous" breakfast - the only thing I'll remember is the infamously rude service. Consider this a lesson learned: book a reservation somewhere else if you want to start your day on a positive...

The trio of rice balls was a highlight, each with a distinct character. The miso soup with mushrooms warmed the soul, while the tamagoyaki was perfectly balanced with grated daikon. We also tried the ochazuke set, and the pour-over broth moment felt like a quiet ceremony in itself.

Highly recommend for anyone seeking an honest, nourishing...
Read moreJapanese breakfast places are hard to find so I liked it here. The food is good, coffee is ok, tea has somehow run out by 9:30 when they open at 8am. Services has weird logic where we're 2 adults and 1 toddler but they refuse to put the 2 seats tables together for us and instead to ask us to sit at 2 separate tables that's far away from each other. Services like this is something I find it impossible to accept even in Japanese standard. I will not be back again and I will not recommend any group more than 2 to come...
