We tried many restaurants in Japan, but Yoshinoya holds a special place in our hearts. We've been to many, but this is the first one we accidentally bumped into on our first night in Osaka.
It is open non-stop, and I remember deciding to try beef the first day, to try some local food. Huge mistake. Luckily, my girlfriend ordered chicken, and oh, was it delicious.
From then on, every single time we were in a hurry or longing for a certain banger, we went to Yoshinoya for a portion of grilled salmon and the best fried chicken I ever tried.
Prices are extremely affordable; interiors offer simple bar chairs with monitors for ordering, all coupled with typical Japan-like silence and individuality. Prime Japan experience, I can guarantee it.

Read moreReally easy eat. Prices are all pretty much under 900 yen and you can find bowls that go for 400-500yen. You walk in and just find an empty seat and the waiter will come to you. I'd suggest picking your order before you walk in, so that you don't have to call down the waiter again.
I chose the first thing i saw on the menu, which was the soup bowl with rice, but I wish I'd have chosen another dish. The food was okay, but the service is great and makes up for it. The waiter I had was amaaazing. It was 11pm on a Friday night and he was the most energetic hospitality employee id ever seen.

The beef bowl was superb and very affordable, I can have them over and over again. The rice served was steaming hot and soft, it was right sized for my small appetite.
