Tonight I went to this restaurant with two friends. For this review, I will only review my dish as I didn’t taste other dishes. I had a Hokkaido beef cutlets set (¥2200). First time to have beef cutlets and didn’t know what to expect. I was given a small metal kind of hot plate with a block of fuel sitting underneath. Took awhile before the beef cutlets to arrive. Guess the chef took time to freshly fry the beef steaks. When the cutlets arrived, the beef was still rare but the crust was hot and crispy. According to the illustrated instructions, one should pan fry each cutlet on the hot plate for a little while before eating it. The beef had nice beef taste, unliked some US steaks tasted very ‘beefy’. The beef was tender and had marble fat. The pan fried cutlets went well with rice. I forgot to try how it tasted before being pan fried. The finely sliced cabbage and the potato salad were refreshing and balanced out the slightly fatty beef. Rice and soup were good too. I wasn’t hungry so the small set was enough. I was very happy with the set and do recommend to try. The bad thing was that the ventilation of the shop wasn’t good. It had a strong cooking or deep frying smell of oil throughout the shop. Also, I was trying to make a reservation for tonight yesterday but a waiter said they didn’t do reservations. Tonight when we arrived, we saw an empty table and would like to sit at that table instead of the ‘bar seats’. Another waiter said that the table was reserved. I was told that no reservation could be made and now there was a reserved table. Maybe there was some kind of misunderstanding. I don’t know. Nevertheless the...

This store probably just run by a mother and a son, only two of them.
First of all, the son was so rude and attitude was extremely horrible. The woman facial expression also extremely bad. She kept rolling her eyes when we ordered extra rice or extra fire candle to continue our cooking.
We ordered the most expensive sukiyaki and Kobe grill beef set.
The beef was fair and edible. However, i strongly doubt it is from kobe or high grade premium beef.
It was definitely over charged with horrible staffs.
We also noticed that the store not welcomed any walk-in foreigner customers. However, if you were Japanese, they were happy to serve.
What a horrible dining experience! Think twice if you want to feed your tummy! Perhaps Sukiya, Mcdonald’s or Lawson give you better experience.
Thanks for reading my comments and wish you enjoy your stay in...
Read moreI went there with my fam, we made reservation beforehand. To be honest, like everybody said, the female staff wasn’t too nice, but not too bad as well. Regarding the food, we ordered kobe wagyu sukiyaki, fried big shrimp bowl, one japanese unagi rice and non-japanese unagi with wagyu rice.
The kobe beef even got the registered number u could check, it is just fair enough to eat this delicious beef, but i have to say the sauce is not enough for this beautiful beef. The fried shrimp and the japanese unagi were so good, the rice and wagyu were sooo good as well. It is just fair and good food, may want to go again but won’t be go again in short term when i revisit otaru again...
