Kita no Ryoba — Restaurant in Otaru

Kita no Ryoba is a convenient place to try a wide range of Hokkaido specialties with generous portions. The sea urchin donburi comes in a big serving and looks fresh, though the uni still had some membranes and seemed slightly frozen, which made the texture less creamy. The lamb and beef skewers were okay but quite average in flavor. On the positive side, the grilled fish was nicely prepared with a smoky aroma, and the unagi don had a rich, sweet sauce that paired very well with the rice. It was a bit expensive, but it was a good experience to have fresh sushi in Hokkaido which was quite different from other part of Japan.

The restaurante is really huge and it also has souvenir shop as well. It was kind of like an Izakaya style. Just one problem is that the parking space was too small, so if you come here by a car, you may find difficulty in parking here or maybe not possible if...
