When you visit Otaru, fried chicken (zangi) is a must try and Takeda is a great place to try it. The fried chicken is so tender and crispy, and you can choose between different sauces. A friend recommended this place so we went with some expectations but was left feeling disappointed…

Fried chicken was nothing to shout about (it wasn’t crispy despite being freshly deep fried), but it was palatable. Mentaiko fries were quite nice, with the insides...

Had the grill wagyu beef. Not sure if it's authentic wagyu beef but the piping hot and juicy beef is delicious and the rest doesn't matter anymore.

Opposite it there's a seafood shop selling live seafood. It's pretty good too but...
