This tiny ramen shop was opened by the owner 50 years ago. He’s an old man who doesn’t speak English and doesn’t have an English menu, but you can make do with the photos on the menu. On the left side it’s miso based soup and on the right side soy base soup. I would recommend to add as extra the pork. It’s oven baked pork and absolutely tender and delicious. The old man is very friendly towards foreigners even if he doesn’t speak the language. I would recommend the “higumakokumiso” for a rich broth. Or the “hotate” for those who like scallops. There are 7 seats so it’s tiny and might be busy during rush hour.

We tried this one among the many small ramen restaurants in the Ganso street. Not so long wait outside. The place is very typical and functional, and cramped up. We expected this, but it's not been so nice to eat just next to the door, continuously swinging open and close with such cold outside. The staff also seemed not particularly friendly, except for the chef himself that flashed some smile. However, we found the ramen really good and we would suggest this place. Spoken english level was poor, but the menu was quite well translated.

ウマイ!! Incredible ramen served by a really friendly Japanese elderly couple who spoke perfect English. We came in because it seemed to have the best atmosphere and amazing チャシュウメン bowls and we did not regret it one bit! Every bite was an absolute delight. They have four different types of miso broth - personally preferred the normal miso. All amazing. Extremely friendly and welcoming to both Japanese and foreign guests alike. Would go again!
