I pass by this Chinese restaurant quite often and seems to be busy most of the time. From my experience, Chinese food in Japan that I’ve had were all delicious.
Got there about 30 minutes before the opening time, so I was first in line and got in right away but many customers showed up shortly afterward.
Since it was still early morning, I wanted to eat simple, just crab fried rice and harumaki. Hoikoro and ankake yakisoba looks very delicious too but then it would’ve been way too much food for one person.
Crab fried rice was massive. Not a lot of crab but tons of rice, which I won’t mind if it tastes good like side fried rice you get at Japanese ramen shops. But here, flavor is very mild. Way too light for any Chinese fried rice I’ve had. But harumaki were incredibly good, perfectly fried, you can tell right away that it’s homemade. The fillings inside were so juicy, I can taste bamboo shoots, cabbage and pork.
But yeah, I should’ve skip fried rice for ankake yakisoba then it would’ve been a...
Read moreA really good Chinese restaurant. We waited for 5 minutes at 20:00 on a Friday. We ordered 5 dishes and came down to 5000 yen (and that was way too much food for two people).
Every course was delicious. The soup dumplings especially so. I've been to my share of Chinese restaurants in japan, but this was the best.
The spicy chicken isn't spicy (it's more remiscent of sweet and sour) but was still very good.
Bang bang chicken is more chinese style, which means cold chicken and cucumbers. Not spicy though, it has a peanut butter sauce. Try it.
Will probably...
Read moreSaw high reviews of this Chinese restaurant "香洲" and gave it a try because of the high reviews. Ordered a few dishes including the fried rice with shrimps, which tasted awful as the fried rice was soggy and sticky, without the wok hey flavour. Obviously, they didn't use overnight rice; it tasted terrible! I have to give credit for the spring rolls, which were good.
Subsequently, the staff mixed up our orders. For example, the waitress who took my order for the crab omelette ended up not delivering the dish. When we enquired about it, they told us it was not in the order chit. Instead, they served us two servings of mapo tofu (one spicy and one non-spicy) when we only ordered the non-spicy version. So terrible! The staff/kitchen also served us the wrong sauce for dipping for the steamed shrimp dumplings (Har Gow). Then two waitresses came back to our table to switch the sauce and started giggling, which was not funny at all. Not professional at all.
I would not go back to this restaurant ever again! Terrible food and clueless...
