Charcoal Grilled Hokkaido-style Lamb KITANOKAZE — Restaurant in Sapporo

Wanted to go to the Beer Hall for Jingiskhan but need reservations for it this we headed out and went to this place by chance. The food here is delicious and the staff are very attentive and polite. We ordered a variety of lamb cuts. The favorites were rump, sirloin, lean etc. the Uni Yukke which is sea urchin with raw mutton is a small portion but delicious. All the meats do not have strong mutton smell. The grilling is easy and the juices flowed to the vegetables. We ordered the grapefruit and lemon sour and you squeeze the fruit juice yourself and pour into the base drink. Highly recommended as this place do not need reservation. GOOD Nice taste with not a very crowded atmosphere. The staff helped us with how to eat lamb meat properly. It was a good choice to celebrate the last dinner at Hokkaido.

BAD Would be better if there is a staff who is good at English. Ordering drink per person was mandatory which was not notified in advance(or maybe they said in Japanese even though we said we cannot understand their language) SC sth fee(do not know exactly what it is) and basic vegies fee were also included without notice in advance as well. We went there because of the high ratings on google maps, but our experience turned out not that good. They mandated everyone to order a drink starting from 350yen, even for kid. And they also charged 200 yen per person for onions. They do post a notice on gate so we accept those overhead cost because we had pretty high expectations to Hokkaido lamb, but the lamb is just ordinary, nothing too special. Adding everything together I this it’s overpriced.
