Cosy place with decent coffee. The inheritor retains features of a wooden house while incorporating elements of industrial style.

The flat white, which uses dark roasted blend, is bold and silky. The balance between bitter and sweet tends to lean towards the former. Personally, I would prefer medium dark roast beans that comes with other notes for a more palatable experience.

For the pastries, they are okay. The muffin is moist, and the layer of cream cheese balance out the different layers- crumble, dough and blueberry. The carrot cake is moist, with the spice profiles nicely exuding themselves as you dig into the cake. The croissant could be more flakey. While the centre fruit jam adds a nice touch to the bake, it became a little chewy and stuck to the teeth after a few bites.

Overall, a nice place to get...

I don't normally write reviews, but this was such a wonderful coffee shop I had to...

Coffee is from Weekenders Coffee in Kyoto when I visited, tried all three single origin pour overs and a latte while in Takayama. All very fresh, bursting with the fruity notes on the card that explains what you can expect that comes with the coffee. The small bites available were also quite tasty. Self-service lemon water was available which is always a nice touch.

Shop was beautifully designed with two small tables in the back, with a larger shared table in the front, offering a welcoming space that was also quite cozy.

What really rounded out the experience was the nicest barista/owner, who speaks great English from having lived abroad and has an interesting...

First day of our stay in this town we (couple from UK) came here for a coffee and very much enjoyed it. The second day of our stay in Takayama we returned, this time with my brother, who sadly wasn’t feeling 100% so didn’t fancy a coffee or drink. They wouldn’t let us sit down inside unless he ordered something alongside the two of us, who were ordering coffees. It was quite upsetting and we left, it didn’t make us feel welcome and it was a shame as we’d enjoyed our visit there the first day. I understand that they need to ensure the space is used efficiently, but we were returning customers and just wanted a quick drink. Maybe I have taken this too personally and I don’t like to leave a bad review, but when my family member is upset it is hard not...

Best coffee in Takayama without a doubt and yet I think actually the best or one of the best in Japan! Definitely my fav. Their pour over is incredible . I’ve had all 3 of their coffee origin types and liked all 3 with one being my fav coffee I’ve had in years. Came here 3 times during my 3 days in Takayama! Had their sourdough toast one for breakfast one morning and it was great. Comes with jam, cheese and butter that you can put on your toast however you want. My partner got the almond croissant twice and liked it both times. Highly recommend this coffee shop! Oh and to top it off the guys that work there are all so so genuinely friendly and speak great English by Japan standards.

The shop offers both coffee and non-coffee drinks, along with some sweet baked treats. The staff speak English very well and are friendly. Inside, there’s a large table that seats about 6–8 people, 2 seats at counter bar and a couple of small tables for two. The toilet is also clean and well maintained. I ordered a hot drip coffee with Kenya beans — it was bright and slightly sour, just the way I like it. Note that the shop has a rule: one person must order at least one item if you want to sit inside. If you’re visiting around Takayama, this place is definitely worth a stop!
