We were snowed in at Takayama and stumbled upon this charming gem near our hotel during a storm. The lovely couple who greeted us made our experience even more special. We selected the home-made ginger ale.
We opted for the Chef's selection of 4 courses, which was truly unforgettable. The homemade mortadella with freshly baked focaccia was a highlight, followed by seasonal vegetables tempura-style, deer, and a radish salad.
Primo - pasta course was delightful, accompanied by great conversation.
Secondo - The second course was a hearty beef stew with the creamiest, buttery mash and steamed chicory.
Dessert was a baked cheesecake with caramelized banana, finished with a smooth Arabica espresso.

Read moreOur last night in Takayama and really wanted a hearty meal other than Japanese food on a cold night. That’s exactly what we got!! Came across this little gem of an Italian restaurant tucked away from the main streets. It is a charming place, warm & cozy with a beautiful couple who greeted us and run the restaurant together. The food was exceptional, service was great and had amazing wine.
An amazing chef trained in Tuscany! 👌 We talked all things food, flavours & culture. We loved 💕every bit of our 4 course meal and could not fault it. 😋 Highly recommend. Thank you, Michelle & David...

If you close your eyes and eat his food you cannot recognize any difference between the chef and an Italian cook. Great place, highly recommended.
