Went for lunch as a solo traveller. The waiter is friendly and speaks English suitably. The food was delicious and affordable. The portions were perfect and they served free coffee and miso soup. I will come back for dinner to try their omurice.
Edit. I returned for dinner. I was planning on getting an omurice but while being seated I got a glimpse of a man eating pork sauté, which looked heavenly, so I ordered that instead. The waitress explained the menu to me (even went as far as to show pictures of each food item on their social media account) and was very patient while I was indecisive over what pork sauté style to order. The meal was delightful (compliments to the chef) and with the help of google translate I had a brief conversation with the waitress. In the end, they insisted that I only pay for the drink I ordered and I got to enjoy the meal for free. Overall, this has been one of my favourite restaurants in Japan and I will try to come back again to finally try the omurice before I head back home. Thank you for the...
Read moreTuesday night, 11/5- What a great start to our first time in Japan! My husband and I went here for our first night/dinner after a long flight from the states. The owner was very welcoming and had one other staff member. They had an English menu which was very helpful and we also were able to communicate via my high school Japanese and translation apps on our phones. The waitress toward the latter half of our meal approached our table and asked if we wanted to try a menu item that the owner was testing out (nigiri in savory tea broth) and also asked us for our feedback to potentially improve the dish! What a comforting dish it was to end our already comforting meal! We also didn’t know until the end that it would be cash only so my husband went to the nearby konbini to withdraw some cash. My husband has been suggesting we go back when we return to Tokyo from Osaka! Would definitely...
Read moreThis place was amazing. It's a little out of the way, and pretty small, but oh my god are they ever nice there. We ordered two omurice and some drinks. The owner/chef then gave us a free plate of squid katsu.
The omurice that was delivered was, simply put, ginormous. The biggest omurice I've ever seen. Mount eggerest on my plate. We'd ordered some plum sake to go with it, and after I'd worked my way through the half-dozen egg omelette and quarter tonne of rice on my plate, they offered a free refill of our plum sake because "the omelette was late."
Seriously the nicest place we've been to. They don't speak much English but went out of their way to use a translator app, and had full English menus available. Highly...
