Japan Stationery Museum — Attraction in Tokyo

This hidden gem shows a brief but elaborate history of all things stationary on a single floor. From typewriters, pens, to pencil cases, and other miscellaneous tools. I even saw those hard-box pencil cases with the sharpener and pencil slots that I fondly used during my childhood! Sadly there's no English translation here, but the display says everything of what's in it. ＪＲ総武線浅草橋駅東口を出て浅草橋駅前交差点を渡り総武線沿いの柳橋桜南通りを両国駅方面に進んだ突き当たりにある東京文具販売健保会館の１Ｆにある文房具の資料館である。入館料は無料で開館は平日１３時から１６時であるが常時開いている訳ではなく入口正面の受付でスタッフの方に声をかけると資料館の鍵を開けて頂け自由見学となる。資料館なので狭く薄暗い館内に様々な文具資料がある。レプリカではあるが金印や同じくレプリカの徳川家康公や伊達政宗公の使用した鉛筆や幕末三舟の書いた掛軸、巨大な大筆、算盤や手廻し式計算機、昭和３２年国産初の電気式計算機カシオシレー式計算機等見所は多い。記念スタンプの横に消しゴムが有り入館記念に１つ頂ける。歴史や道具の好きな方は行って損...
