下北SABA食堂 佐助酒場 — Restaurant in Tokyo

The owner was really cool, the staff was very kind. I love saba (mackerel), its my favorite, and they way it's prepared, grilled and served simply with grated radish, is all you need. They do however do different flavour profiles, as well as pickled dishes, they serve some as a complimentary appetizer, I really enjoyed it.

The surprise for me though, was the anchovy cabbage. Incredible, combined with the fish and a domestic beer that landed on sweet/fruity notes was so delicious. Shimokitazawa is my favorite place for food and shopping I will come back here on my next trip. This is one of the places I will miss, but will reference for my own cooking...

They have so many kinds mackerel menu. I had mackerel with shouyu grill, the taste was ok. Not very good. But not bad. The staff(Maybe owner?), not really good vibes. A bit disappointed. Once is enough for me to visit...
