This is a long story but it’s worth reading. From the beginning of the pandemic, I have only gone out to one restaurant with my son as it was an outside place. Yesterday my family had to go to Hachioji as we needed to buy some furniture there. This was just more than 30 minutes away. The day before I looked up any restaurant that had outside seats. When I saw Aina Cafe, I had to ring. Reason was six years ago, my family went to Hawaii and we loved the food there. My son was only 5 years old but he remembers going to a truck with beautiful and healthy food. Well, it looked like Aina Cafe had similar type of food. When I rang the place, staff spoke English to me. This was helpful as my Japanese is just basic. The staff was very helpful. In fact when I was there most of the staff spoke another language apart from Japanese. This is very helpful to foreigners. When we got there, all the staff were so nice. Now, coming from Japan, almost all restaurants have wonderful staff. It’s part of the culture. But even my wife, who is Japanese, she felt so comfortable and also said that the staff is wonderful. The food! It was like that truck in Hawaii! I had Chilly shrimp. The chilly wasn’t so hot and, to my understanding, the chilly was specially prepared. It was absolutely amazing. The rest of the dish was really good food with brown rice. All of the smoothies were all good food with chia seeds (which I have every morning) but you couldn’t taste it. Whether you are into health food or not, this is the place to go. The food was delicious. All seeds, like pumpkin seeds, it all worked together. So even if you are not into health food, the food is delicious. Even though the place at Hachioji was an extra 10 minutes distance from our place, we will DEFINIATELY go back. Oh, and if you spend a certain amount of money, it’s free parking. It’s a particular company for parking so if you are bringing your car, just ring and ask. There are a number of these parking around Aina Cafe. And the food is basically normal price. I thoroughly recommend this place. It’s not just a place to eat when going to Hachioji for doing something else. I will try to find something else around Aina Cafe...
Read moreIt’s a Hawaiian/islandish vibe here. The menu is in Japanese and about half is in English. The food tastes fresh and homemade with care. I am unable to eat bananas and they were able to accommodate that. The staff working the register spoke English for those that need it. We came on a Sunday morning. I’ll have to come back another day to try the garlic shrimp on the lunch menu because I came at 10am. Lunch starts at 11.
If you are particular about texture this French toast was tasty but VERY smooshy in the Japanese style. The...
Read moreThe cafe is about 5min from Hachioji station and I decided to try it out. Best decision. As soon as we came in to the cafe I really appreciated the way staff treat me like their friend. After ordered, we can choose to sit in the cafe or upstairs rooftop. It quite hot that day so I prefer inside. They have a menu of sandwiches, smoothie, French toast and they also have lunch box that I really want to try next time. Smoothie are AWESOME. Good food for the price! Can’t wait to...
