ANTICO CAFFÈ AL AVIS - Roppongi Hills — Restaurant in Tokyo

I’m surprised this place doesn’t have at least an overall 4 and a half star rating. I was in the Aoyama prefecture the day before and was not impressed and quite disappointed by the service staff in a nice restaurant that I visited. You expect a little better service when you are visiting a ritzier and more wealthy class neighborhood or shopping area. This Antico caffe Al Alvis in Roppongi Hills was a much better experience. Well, in such a "classic" Café you expect that at least you can have your coffee in a real cup instead of paper (with a plastic cover fantastic for the planet!!!), unfortunately thanks to all the movies and TV shows everyone thinks it's OK to have a coffee in plastic or paper even if it's consumed inside. We'll never save the planet from plastic at the G20 unless you pretend to have your coffee in a real cup. I come here sometimes with a friend to have a coffee and cake while chatting after we saw some exhibitions in Roppongi. This time I had an Iced Chai tea and an Italian cream puff, both were delicious. In the past I also had tried their other items, like the small chocolate cake, and an iced tea with lychee flavor, both were delicious! We are here mostly on Saturday afternoons, and it is crowded, but that’s just the way it is. I wish they had a slightly bigger selection of sweets/ cakes, but what they have is tasty.
