Asakusa's popularity stems from Senso-ji Temple and Nakamise shopping street. As Tokyo's oldest and most famous temple, Sensoji is crowded, except early mornings and nights. Visitors can get fortune papers for 100 yen, keeping good ones and tying bad ones to the temple's rack. (ie you leave your bad luck behind at the temple and it won’t follow you.). Fanning incense smoke towards you at the huge incense urn brings blessings. The temple is free and open 24/7, near Asakusa stations.
Nakamise Dori offers snacks and souvenirs. It is a pedestrian shopping street that runs from Kaminarimon to Sensoji Temple. However we could not stay long to try the snacks because we had a tight schedule ahead. Disappointed though. Will try the snacks next visit.
The Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center offers a free 8th-floor view. From the observation deck, you have an excellent aerial view of Asakusa Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Dori and Tokyo Skytree. The bright red 'Thunder Gate' lantern marks the temple's entrance. It is the most photographed lantern in Asakusa.

That sounded reasonable and at this point guy had an attitude so we weren’t planning on even going to the in-pool area afterwards, but once we sat down the guy says we need to order 1 drink each from their overpriced and limited drinks menu lol. Also more just FYI you can’t bring kids here either, family before us was...
