I had an incredible bowl of abura soba here and thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my bowl of noodles. What truly set it apart was the way the flavors transformed with each ingredient I added.
Starting with the base, the noodles had a delightful texture and satisfying chew. However, they lacked any special flavor on their own. But things truly came alive when I began adding different condiments.
A splash of vinegar added that signature taste of abura soba. The bowl became sticky and oily with sophisticated flavors, but it never became too difficult to taste. I loved how the vinegar was able to cut through the richness of all the other ingredients, creating a perfect balance.
Then, adding the spicy oil completely transformed the dish, reminiscent of tantanmen but with the dry, soupless character and noodle texture that reminded me of why I found abura soba so addictive in the first place.
And finally, adding soup to the leftover sauce transformed everything left in the bowl into a wonderfully rich, flavorful broth that was deeply satisfying but not heavy or overpowering. What a way to close the final chapter of this meal!

Read moreIt seems as though there are more abura soba places opening up, and this is another good option. It’s in a high traffic area, but there was no wait. There are only 8ish seats available. I went with their standard option, which was fantastic. There weren’t a ton of oils in the bowl, which was great, and the amount was enough to coat the noodles perfectly. Add in your mix of sauces and you’re set. The pork rice bowl (チャーシュー丼) was also tasty. Fast and...

Had the salty and plain aburasoba, which were delicious, and also the miso dumplings which were very tasty and beautifully presented. Menu also available in English, which helped with ordering. Only point is other places perhaps offer a little more pork as standard, but thoroughly...
