I’m always on the lookout for a good sandwich in Japan so I came by and tried 2 sandwiches. I was a bit excited because the style leaned more toward a trendy American deli rather than Japan and I miss those flavors.
Blue Monday was a 3.5/5 for me. I was excited it had 2 of my favorite ingredients: caramelized onions and bleu cheese. Yet I could barely taste either of them. Apple Cheeks was much better at 4.5/5 but it didn’t leave me dying to come back for it again any time soon.
The coleslaw reminded me of the documentary about bringing KFC to Japan and the first thing they did was take out most of the sugar from the original recipe. I know there’s no rules to a good slaw but I found it to be just a little too bland for my tastes. I could only taste a little pepper and that’s about it.
