It was like stepping into a different era visiting this cafe. The color palette gave out a welcoming warmth. And judging from the framed Kandinsky copies on the wall, it must be a deliberate choice. The staff were absolutely delightful. I had the sandwich set of the day - exactly what I would expect from a traditional Japanese kissaten. Tip for non-smokers: wisely choose your time of visit. This is one of the rare establishments that allow smoking. Imagine the crowd of smokers from nearby offices during lunch time on a weekday. 😂

4.5 stars - the lady who runs the place is super nice and accommodating, at that price it’s wonderful. I live around the corner and my wife was sick in bed and wanted buttered toast, I didn’t have much time or things in the fridge, ran over there and she set it up perfectly to take back home quickly.
