This restaurant is located in Ueno, about a 13-minute walk from JR Ueno Station. When I walked a little from JR Ueno Station, there was a pedestrian bridge and I used this pedestrian bridge. If you don't use it, you will feel a little detour. I went out in the evening because it was over lunch time. Opening in the evening starts at 17:00, but after 17:00 it is hard to get anything inside, and this time of intense heat is very hard. When we went around 16:50, several people were already in line. There are several clerk, but the Indian clerk who guided me was disappointingly amiable and attitude. I finally entered the store around 17:10. It may happen, but it seems better to go to the store after hearing the opening time.
There are only table seats in the store. Plates and napkins were already set on each table. Curry, Nan, Kebab, Samosa, Biryani etc. There were several types of curry, appetizers and biryani. Kebabs can be ordered from small quantities. The drink was also written with alcohol. There was also a mango lassi.
This time I ate the chicken biryani that I wanted. There were about two people and I couldn't eat very much. Biryani has a spicy taste, and the scent of spices and the taste of spices are extremely effective and delicious! Basmati rice is a city that absorbs spices, chicken, turmeric and saffron. I was able to enjoy the aroma and taste of Biryani that I had eaten in Pakistan in the past.
And I ordered grab jamon for dessert. The syrup is very delicious as it gives out the warm food! It is a pity that there were only two. The price is not high and you want to go...
Read moreWOW! I loved the food here, especially when I said I wanted it spicy!
I did go somewhere else, but they were closed (boo!). So I remembered that Halima Biriyani was close by.
I went and there weren't too many people in, which was good. I ordered a Nilgiri keema curry, raita and a garlic naan bread, with a mango lassi drink. When I said I wanted the curry spicy, the drinks guy looked at me with surprise, obvs he didn't know what I could handle spice-wise.
Anyhoo, the curry arrived and it was really...... Not spicy at all! I was offered some chopped up fresh chillis, that did give it some heat, but not so that your head was burning.
I then found out that the waiter was from Uttarakhand, and there were three Bengalis from West Bengal! That was great, I started chatting with them.
But back to the meal. It was really nice, I liked it a lot and the service was good. For people who complain about them talking Hindi, it's what they do, take it as entertainment.
I loved it there, I'll visit...
Read moreThe most miserable restaurant I ever experienced in Tokyo. Space between tables are extremely narrow. I literally spilled the drinks (very sorry) of other table’s customer while trying to squeeze in to get into the seat. Staffs are miserable (beyond imagination!) who are engaged in chatting with colleagues and watch Hindi TV channels playing so loudly. Wonder why is the TV channel playing with display of Hindu-Muslim riots in Delhi. I could not understand how it was entertaining the customers as no one was even looking at it. This evening, I was the only Indian and all others are innocent Japanese customers whose knowledge and taste of Indian food seems limited to NaN-curry-Mango Lassi!!!So called Biryani is just shame .. full of lumped rice (unbroken onigiri ?!) with big pieces of boiled, charcoaled meat.. I am sorry but this is my real feeling without any prejudices. Never again this...
