If your in Yoyogi 3-chome area and need somewhere to work this isn’t to bad a place. They have inexpensive food and drinks and while it’s not too top notch it’s still decent.
The have a large row of tables where you can plug devices in and the outlets support multiple devices. If you arrive to close to noon you might find the row of seats with plug-in outlets is full, that’s okay There is an outdoor area that has many tables and is almost never full and keep an eye on the tables with plugs until one becomes available if you need it.
The sandwiches are particular inexpensive but still good tasting and the pasta isn’t high end but it is fairly tasty and worth the money you pay by all means.
This is a much better place to work for value compared To the place across the street. It’s higher end and higher quality but the place across the street is a bit cost prohibitive for a lengthy session at the laptop where you need breakfast and lunch. I did both within the space of two days and the bill at the other place came to 7000 Yen for morning and lunch while place was under 2000 and I ate and drank three times as much at Veloce. It also had casual seats if you just want to chat etc instead of working but I recommend it more for business use cases where you don’t want to break your wallet. Also if you happen to be in this part of Yoyogi and you need a place to go with a bunch of large baggage you can use the outdoor area for your luggage as there is window where you can keep an eye on it. For example if your headed to a different hotel but you need to stop and do something on the laptop for a while first, well this is the ideal place to stop. Wifi is decent speed and latency is low and is easy to connect to. This whole Restaurant is a no hassle zone.
You don’t have to worry about being kicked out for spending too much time on the laptop without ordering again and again. it’s doubtful they Will ever do that because of the space outside that is basically never full they can accomodate a lot of people. Even if they did you can just buy a sandwich for 200 yen.
Best bargain cafe in Yoyogi 3-chome area. Be care ful there is another one down the street close to Shinjuku station and you won’t get the same result there as there is no outdoor area so I recommend just spending another five minutes to walk to this one instead of you need to sit and do some work, especially if you expect to be there during...
Read moreThe portion of the pasta menu might be a bit smaller than the same dish in the shop but still very fine from the cost performance point of view.
An added thought, Spring 2024 I’ve come to think that this is a good shop even among the cheap but trusty Veloce groups, since the most others can’t afford to be located in a place with a view. Literally, the “situation” is a bit different here.
The “Rouble” like glass pyramid is in the plaza at front, the illuminated skyscraper seen far and the high rises on the other side overhanging the Shinjuku sky… Only a few know that this Veloce here has in fact such good views from its outdoor seats.
Great place for having a break and/or working with your laptop or counterpart inside or outside seating. Just take into account the occasional strong winds or morning sunlight on sunny days should be taken into account.
The only real complaint is that they close here by 6 pm at the moment, even after the pandemic time, when the others near Shinjuku Station opens until 9...
