The food ok. To be honest very much overpriced. We ate in better places in Japan with the same quality of fish. Furthermore, I would not recommend this place to anyone that is not local.
They have a “dinner course” which is the only option in the menu. There are many local people and it is notorious that they are given more food and a special treatment. This is super uncomfortable for people that are having a treat on this place and I would even claim a form of discrimination. It even was worse for us than other non locals likes Australians. (We are Latino).
Additionally, the chefs gives all of the people there food from his hands that you also have to take with your hand. Not once did he use sanitizers after giving one person a sushi and going after the other person. I know this might be tradition but higiene protocols can should be put in place.
We came here as our goodbye honeymoon treat and instead we faced with arbitrary treatment and unsanitary conditions .There are many places in Tokio where you will be feel welcome and that are clean. This is not one of them. If you are in the look of trying something amazing, this is...
Read moreThe sushi was average but considering the taste, quality of the ingredients, and the lack of service, I would say the restaurant is overpriced overall. I was expecting a better experience for this price. We had the omakase course with two glasses of recommended sake. The total price was 34500(JPY) per person. Both of the sake performed pretty well. Unfortunately, there was only one dish that was remarkable among 20+ dishes. The flavoring of the dishes wasn't that consistent, some lack of seasoning with no taste; some had too much wasabi that was too spicy to taste the fish meat. Personally feel that the place is not foreigners friendly. Not sure if the main chef noticed that we do speak and understand Japanese even though we were chatting in our mother language, but he was jokingly saying to the customer who sat next to us that they could move their seat if he thinks we were noisy(うるさい) in front of our face. Which embarrassed the other customer and us, since we were only chatting in our language but nothing close to noisy or loud. In short, you can definitely find a better sushi place with more fair prices and quality...
This place is definitely not for tourists. My BF booked this restaurant as my birthday treat. However, we had a bad experience. First of all, the seating is packed and we have to tuck my elbow in while eating. ¥26,000 is really over priced. Food quality is not that great and some dishes taste weird. The waitress asked us if we have food allergy and I replied that i’m not eating beef, pork and eel. Obviously she didn’t tell the chef. We were served a steamed eel but i didnt voice out just let my bf ate my portion. Until the few last dishes came the eel sushi and suddenly the waitress saw and tell the chef that im not eating eel. So the chef just skip me without giving any other sushi replacement. I was puzzled as normally the chef would give something else to replace. I use google translate to ask the waitress and she went talk to chef. Came back with a reply that there would be no substitute. That is not acceptable. Even a tamago or tuna would do. The rice came along with the oyster sushi is over seasoned with vinegar. You can tell that they treat local and tourist differently as chu-toro they served to us is with tendons. And the japanese customer got chu-toro in a perfect one piece shape. There was no drink menu. When we finished the meal and ask for the bill. Waitress said all would be charged upon our credit card that we used to booked for the dinner. I asked for total just for the drinks and she looked surprised. Then she go into the cashier room and use a calculator to calculate. After few minutes she told us it would be ¥10800. But on way back to hotel, my bf got the email about the bill and drinks would be around ¥6000. So what was the waitress calculating? She just made up the sum by her memory but nothing was recorded on a paper. The only good thing about this restaurant is that the chef assistant which is a young guy in black color uniform he was very polite and use a sushi dictionary to introduce...
