Tucked away on the second floor of a modest building, this Japanese/Taiwanese hot pot restaurant turned out to be a hidden gem. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately—something that’s rare and especially appreciated as tourists. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a relaxed ambiance that made us feel right at home. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, patiently explaining the menu and checking in throughout the meal to ensure everything was perfect. Our dinner came in thoughtfully prepared courses: beautifully arranged fresh vegetables, thinly sliced meats, perfectly cooked noodles, a delicate dessert, and warm tea to end the meal. Every element was prepared with care and skill, from the rich, flavorful broth to the refreshing house-made drinks. It was clear that a lot of attention went into both the ingredients and presentation. This wasn’t just a meal—it was a full, immersive dining experience. Read moreOn the second floor of a small building on a quiet side street is a hidden gem of a restaurant. My face is still pleasantly flushed from the heat and aromatic blend of the broth and my stomach is full and satisfied by a wide range of meats, vegetables, leafy greens and noodles. While I don't think I understood the details of all the ingredients and interactions of the various dishes, I know that it was prepared with care and intent to be both medicinal and delicious. I suggest asking what Mr. Ochi recommends and following that.
This was an excellent hot pot experience and a fantastic dining experience. The host and cook were very gracious and tolerant of any language and culture ignorance on our part and were extremely hospitable and welcoming. The bibs were welcome and useful when we inelegantly handled the various foods and the bubbling broth.
If you are staying in the area, you must go, and if you are in other parts of Tokyo it is worth a trip...

The restaurant is very cozy and tucked away, definitely a hidden gem! The hot pot was AMAZING, and the staff gave us instructions on how to properly cook and enjoy the meal.
The best part of the experience was the service. The staff were incredibly kind and hospitable, even though we were there so late. Our host even walked us out afterwards, asked us where we were from, and made polite conversation while making sure we had a good experience.
Do not miss out on this experience, it's a beautiful meal.
