I'm giving this place a 5 because it's such a nice little hidden gem! I can see this place from my hotel and wanted to give it a try! The staff is very warm and welcoming! Even if we speak little Japanese the locals are so friendly. The staff also tried to speak English and that's a plus for me! I really like the interior and how they have an area where they make the food. It's a bit narrow, and there's a glass between you and the employees but it's nice to see how they make things.
We ended up ordering two coffees, a danish and a slice of bread with butter. It wasn't top tier but the location, the outside seating and the staff made for that! The breakfast sandwiches go fast. So don't be like us and get there a couple of hours after opening.

The location of the shop also provides a view of the river if you wish to observe the river while enjoying your drink. You can also watch them their pastries if you come early in the morning.
Highly recommended if you're staying in the...
Read moreIn the three days I was in Tokyo, I went to Cawaii every day. In those three days, I purchased six ice Americanos (smooth, perfect for the 95F days), and 11 pastries to share. My favorites were their classic and chocolate croissants. They were airy and either just right buttery or just right soft with chocolate. The bakery is inside the cafe, so it's cool to watch them make magic. It's air conditioned inside, if a little small. They have a porch with chairs outside overlooking the river (too hot outside for me). Exceptional friendliness...
