This was a hard place for me to rate as I had not tried Chanko Nabe before and my only point of comparison were other nabes (hot pot dishes) that I have had. Frankly speaking, I thought the actual chanko nabe was okay. I have had nabes with some really strong and bold broths, but the broth in the chanko nabe was more reserved and not nearly as impactful. The ingredients making up the chanko nabe were quite good, especially the small chicken meat balls with ginger, but nothing really blew me away. If I had just eaten the chanko nabe, this place would have gotten 3 stars, but what made the experience truly special were the small dishes available at the start, to whet the appetite, while the hot pot fully cooked. Each and every single small dish was a delight. Tasty and refreshing. A perfect contrast to the flavors of the nabe. I was already happy with the small dishes, but then came the wings. This I was not expecting at all, especially not at a chanko nabe restaurant, but am I glad that I got the pleasure of trying those wings. They were so full of flavor and had the right balance of crunchiness, tenderness, and juiciness. I would honestly go back again just for the wings and the small dishes. I cannot really say that you should go out of your way to eat that particular chanko nabe, but if you are in the area enjoying some sumo matches, I do think it is a good place to close a sumo-filled day.

Easily stated I really loved this place. In my week long trip to Tokyo I ate here 4 times. Very delicious and satisfying meals. We came here looking for an authentic Sumo Chanko dining experience and we weren't let down. Its a formal entry at the end of the mall its a nice restaurant. A maitre d greeted us and took us to our booth. Period Japanese music played and sumo wrestling is on repeat on several screens in the restaurant. They had a English menu for us to help in understanding the ordering process. The soy sesame wings and snow crab leg are excellent! as we ate appetizers the hot chanko pot was being cooked at our table. The chanko was so appetizing and fulling. We were very satisfied each time. The staff including the manager Hideki made us feel comfortable and bridged the language gap to make us feel welcomed. I cannot recommend this place enough.

While in Tokyo from California we visited with a local, nice part of town, it was just next to the train station. We had the fixed meal such the Sumo wrestlers have. Food was excellent, fish was very fresh. Soup base was awesome as was all the food we had. The service we received was also excellent. I have never had known of this type of food. So glad to have been taken here.
