My wife and I came here a few times during our three week stay in Tokyo. How fortunate that we first stopped here after taking our clothes to the laundromat, as this is perhaps one of our favourite cafes we visited in all of Japan. The decoration inside is what I can best describe as quaint and old school. It's like a slice of older times before cafes became dominated by soulless mainstream corporate chains. It puts you immediately at ease the moment you enter. The owner is a polite older gentleman who made all the coffee and sandwiches himself, each of which was surprisingly more delicious than the last. How can a simple gently toasted sandwich be so tasty? If you order the set (sandwich, coffee and slice of cake) it's also fantastic value. I had the chocolate cake and it was moist and rich, but not overly sweet and stuffy. The iced coffee was refreshing and fragrant with absolutely no sourness.
We came here four times in total because we truly fell in love after our first visit. The atmosphere is so relaxing I could have had a nap! On our last visit I enjoyed the owner brewing a warm coffee with his classic siphon set and the coffee was truly delicious, and the owner clearly took pride in his work as he explained to us how the process works. Not really any espresso or milky coffee options available for those who'd rather those, but with their siphon coffee tasting so good I'd not recommend them even if they had them!
If you find yourself in Akihabara and want a relaxing and quiet coffee place without foregoing the quality, this is the place for you. It's location means it's a little off the beaten tourist track but it's well worth a visit. It's about ten minutes from Akihabara JR station and even closer to the metro. The whole neighourhood this cafe is in is a refreshing break from the hussle and bustle of Akihabara and Tokyo in...
Read moreI came here on a rainy day and it was such a nice atmosphere inside. Booth seats and some small tables. I saw a couple working on laptops but I wouldnât dare bring my computer to a cafe this small. Very charming interior. No wait for a table.
We ordered two coffees (one âStrongâ, which was almost espresso-like) that were brewed using a Syphon. We also got the cake sampler which included cheesecake with an orange sauce and chocolate cake and cream. It was a reasonable portion and price. The staff who made our coffees was nice. I would come back if I was...
Read moreStumbled upon this cute old-school cafe in Tokyo run by the sweetest elderly couple. Theyâre so kind and their service is just đ„ș. I almost teared up. The place is super cozy and homey. Honestly didnât expect much from the drinks and cakes thought itâd just be typical retro vibes. But omg, their mocha and cinnamon coffee were SO good đcheesecake taste is also just right toođ Their location is so strategic closed to Akihabara station, but surprisingly prices are very reasonable and considered cheap compared to other cafes in...
