Tokyo's Shin-Okubo Station: A Pretty Decent Korean Sashimi Place!!

Very busy restaurant but waiting time was surprisingly not that long. We visited during lunch time on a Saturday and it was fully packed. But they have a dining area in the second floor as well and staff was very quick to get a table for you. Menu was huge and they cook the barbecue like dishes in front of you. That saves time. They also provide sheets and boxes to cover the jackets and bags from getting food smell. The chopsticks and spoons are in a drawer which you can pull open from the side of the table.

Delicaondoru UNDERGROUND branch. Worst experience with Korean BBQ so far. Not fresh, very stinky meat—I can smell the bad smell right when they started grilling it in front of us. Unlike the other branch, most if not all the staff here are not Korean that’s why the food is pretty bad. We didn’t care to finish everything for the first time, it’s how bad it is. I thought you can never go wrong with Korean BBQ. When we requested for a little more lettuce leaves, they gave us way too much and when we asked if they can make it much less—they said not to worry about it. It’s very wasteful to me.

Pretty good Korean food but not worth the 20-30min or more wait when there are SO many other options around. We dined here at 9.40pm and it was still full house. Had soontubu soup and cheese bulgogi rice, not bad. It has a nice bustling Korean bbq/ Japanese izakaya feel, so expect to come out smelling like bbq even if you didn't eat bbq. If there were no queues, I'd come back to try other things on their menu.

We came across this spot by chance while walking around, and the menu really caught our attention! We visited on a Saturday evening, and even though it was crowded, the wait was only about 20 minutes. The fried chicken was super crispy and delicious, though the pork was just okay. A great bonus is that you can ask for extra vegetables at no additional cost. The staff were very friendly and helpful too!

My friend and me had dinner here last December, a couple of days before new year. The portions were a bit small as you can see from the pic below but luckily we were not too hungry so it didn't particularly bother us. Also this was one of the few places that didn't have a line at the time, so we were quite grateful ahaha At least they gave us plenty of side dishes, which is always appreciated!
