Read morei ordered the double cheese hamburger omurice, and i have to say that the presentation is definitely much more impressive than the taste. it’s not bad at all, it was extremely yummy, but i have to admit it’s not as good as it looks. the dish had to a hearty yet mild flavour, and i felt like there wasn’t one element stood out more than another, it was kind of like a jumble of sauces. all of them were really creamy and thick, especially the cheese one, which, when mixed together with the slightly sweet demiglace, created quite a light taste. the rice had a strong tomato aroma, the egg was perfectly cooked and very silky, and the hamburg was moist but a bit tough and had a grilled flavour. most of the cheese filling is concentrated in the center, and none of it is very salty like you might expect. maybe it was because of the overwhelming heat of the steam emanating from the egg and rice, but the flavour of the dish didn’t really stand out to me, nor was it very memorable. if i ever do come back, i might try a different, more unique kind of sauce (the crab sauce was very fragrant and rich, and the crab cream croquette was fried very crisp and the filling was creamy and delicious).
the “drinkable” french toast was a nice way to end the meal, and you’ll probably have room for it if you share, since portions are not too big. it’s not “drinkable” in the way that itS LIQUID, but because the french toast has — underneath the slightly crispy exterior — an extremely eggy, moist, and soggy interior. it’s like the soft bread was soaked in the egg wash but never fried on the pan; that was essentially the consistency and taste of this dish. nevertheless, i didn’t get the feeling that it was undercooked or anything. instead, the mushiness and warmness, almost SOUPINESS, of the toast went very will with the milky, sweet ice cream (but the ice cream did melt vERYY fast because it was served on a...
Read moreProbably one of the best and memorable meal for us in Tokyo for my 🐥 kiddos’ bday. They wanted egg rice and we found this adorable place. The meal was delicious. We had Katsu and the crab croquettes. Both were very good. Runny eggs perfection like TikTok videos. Get the soup and salad set option for 300 yen. Worth it and super refreshing. We added the extra rice option and the overall portion was good. We were pretty full after 3 dishes.
For dessert, the seasonal mango pancake along with banana dutch baby and they were both good. Pancake was better than Dbaby. Fluffy pancake with fresh mango, airy whipped cream and mango sorbet. Perfect!
As for the dutch baby, it was more dense than i expected. Banana was served as is as topping with caramel sauce. I think the dish will be even better if the banana is grilled or torched to enhance natural sweetness.
Location and service: We came here for a special celebration because it seems a cute location. For 1:30 late lunch, we waited ~40 minutes in the 94 degrees heat. (Kudos to papa)The restaurant was so sweet. They came and handed out cool wet nap. By the time we finished about an hour later, there was actually no line . So keep that in mind if you want to hit this wonderful restaurant without a long way wait.
We engaged with one particular staff who is fluent in English (Japanese/Columbian) He was excellent snd sweet. From handing out cool wipes for customers waiting in the heat, setting expectation on the wait to food recommendations.
BTW, super retro sweet cafe vibe with open kitchen. Check out the bathroom!!! No...
