My husband and I were staying up the road from this restaurant, and decided to try it out after passing it several times.
We decided to sit at the bar as we wanted to try a few of the Shochus they had displayed behind the bar, and we knew we would need some assistance. While the drink list and menu was entirely in Japanese, between the helpful manager (who spoke a little English) and our trusty Waygo app, I was able to decipher enough of the menu to order some food, and the manager we entrusted with picking our shochu.
We tried three of the shochus and got the fried tofu, miso glazed pork, and chicken wings. Everything we had was delicious! The restaurant specializes in different types of miso, and uses a different one in each dish. They also served us a dish of cabbage and a little pot of miso as a starter- the miso was so good! We finished up our meal with their dessert of the day - a mini icecream cake roll dusted with matcha powder.
Would highly recommend to any travelers who are willing to get a little out of their comfort zone and are up for possibly just pointing at the menu and going for it. Very nice atmosphere and relaxed setting. Our total meal with the 3 shochus, 3 apps, dessert, and a beer came to 6,500 yen- a great value...

An unusually disappointing dining...
