Ginza Sky Lounge — Restaurant in Tokyo

There are many other restaurants in the area with much better service. We were looking forward to a nice dinner after touring Tokyo. The location was not difficult to find and the view is great. The atmosphere is a little dated. More of a business crowd versus a family or date restaurant. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it was worth the price paid. My biggest complaint is the wine. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir that is market priced about $29 (about 2,700 Yen) and at the restaurant it was 3,500 Yen which was a great deal, so we ordered it. What we received was a $12 (about 1,100 Yen) bottle, which still tasted great so it was fine with us at the time. However, when we got the check, they attempted to charge us 6,500 Yen for the bottle. A 3,000 Yen up mark from what we even ordered and much much more than the wine was worth. We brought it up to the attention of our waitress (who was very attentive and helpful), and she took care of it. However, we are positive that the waiter who we initially ordered with knew and confirmed with us that we were getting the 3,500 bottle, and he brought out the bottle for us. I have never had such a unsatisfying dining experience in Japan through out my time here. I hope they are not overcharging people who can not speak Japanese and read their bill. Thankfully we were able to decipher their wrong doing. Go somewhere else to enjoy the true Japanese culture which is full of hospitality...

Great place, not too tall but still offers great night views over dinner as they are constantly rotating around. Food is of decent standard, had the fillet steak which was well presented with a small portion of mash and nicely decorated veggies. Restaurant is pretty bright though so those wanting more atmosphere might be a little disappointed.

After reading positive reviews online I decided on this restaurant for valentines day. However for upmarket prices it all felt rather cheap. From the fake candles scattered around to the lack of ambience it was very disappointing. It was topped off with them rushing out the courses and putting my girlfriend's dessert next to her whilst she was still eating her main course! If they are in such a hurry to close they shouldn't take bookings for 9pm. I would advise going elsewhere where the quality of food and atmosphere is bound to...
