We selected this eel spot because of its good reviews. We arrived 5 minutes after opening (around 11:05 am) on a Tuesday morning and were seated immediately. By the time we left around 12:00 pm, there was a line approximating a 20 min wait.
The service was excellent. The eel was above average. Barbecued with no perceptible flavor of charcoal (though I wish there was), glazed with a sweet sauce, and served atop of well-cooked small grain rice. I ordered their recommended dish, which came with a small eel appetizer and a salad, as well as miso soup and green tea. I tried the meal in all 3 recommended methods. The most traditional method, where a soup is made by pouring green tea on a mixture of the fish, rice, and green onions, wasn’t my favorite. I preferred mixing the rice with the fish and green onions and eating it dry.
The cost for the recommended dish is ¥6200, which is around USD $43. Though I actually recommend getting one of their other platters that serves similar amounts of fish and rice with a side of miso soup. By forgoing the green tea, salad and small amounts of fish appetizer, you will save at least...

What I got the try it 3 way eel bowl. It was a 3/4 eel on a bed of rice and the whole experience. The meal was very filling, there was just enough food for lunch. The eel was very fresh, crispy and tasty. It was my first official eel bowl in Japan and I did not regret this being the place for it. Very amazing.
The set I got, was for you to experience it in 3 ways, they also came with instructions on the ways to eat it and in what order. I really like the plain way and also the soup way. Not a big fan of the wasabi addition, but the onions are great!
Environment This is located in a building on the 12th floor. It could get busy with chairs outside to sit and wait. When I went with my friend, it was luckily not as busy and we sat down right away. We both ordered the eel bowl and it came out pretty quickly.
Niceness of the staff Very nice and attentive staff. When I needed additional water in my cup they were readily available and also reminding me that they have last call.
Dollar It was pretty decent. it was close to 4000yen for the bowl.
Yes I would definitely...

You may always find a long line of people sitting outside of this restaurant. Despite long waiting time, chairs are provided for waiting.
As for the lunch, we only order the normal 5 Hitsumabushi set. It will be better to order their kaiseki, which include dessert, deep fried eel bone, eel liver and etc. Ofc more expensive.
Eels are said to be aromatically grilled. In fact, outside of the eek is crispy and inside is juicy. The Japanese soy sauce are thick and covered the eel. Delicious and yummy. Terrific chef skill.
Their staff are not only attentive but also pro actively refill our green tea and put cover to our belongings. Furthermore, they understand what we want.
I am not sure the restaurant allows customers taking photos or not. A male staff waved his hand signaling not to take photos of...
