Read moreThis was my #1 place to visit for amazing ramen at an astounding price. However, my visit this time around in 2024 turned upside down.
The entrance has a small line separator. We arrived in the later evening with no crowd. We saw a customer in-between the entrance and inside the restaurant, where you select your ramen option. Waited a few minutes. No greeters in sight or inside. We couldn’t spot any messages on how waiting works.
Customers started lining up behind us, so I decided be pro-active and open the slide door to select my ramen . A split second later an employee in a yellow shirt popped out of nowhere. He tells us to wait outside. I had no issue doing that. However, I had to back out slowly, as the customers behind me had scooped up.
I managed to backed out of the door, and almost towards the yellow sign that was waist high. This guy continues to tell me to back up as if I didn’t hear him the first time. He then shoves me with his arm an inch back since I didn’t quite clear their slide door entrance as fast as he demanded.
Only after I was behind this signs, that’s not in eye-sight, it reads: to wait there until seated.
Never okay for employees to put their hands on customers. Waiting signs should also be posted on entrance door to mitigate any further...
Read moreHad our first authentic Ramen here. It’s our first time in Japan. We just chance upon this place which had 2 people on queue around 2pm. And I thought I’ve seen this place in one of the vlogs I’ve been watching about Tokyo. So we’re lucky we didn’t have to wait long in the queue! As first timers, it was embarrassing how we’re ignorant about their ordering system but I’m glad that the lady who assisted us was kind and patient enough to guide us through. She even gave me a bib because I was wearing a white shirt. And I’m glad she did, coz I spilled some when the egg slid from my chopsticks lol!
I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and I’m surprised that it tasted the same spicy tonkutsu ramen I used to have back home! The only difference is, the portion! This one’s better, in terms of that, coz you can get up to 2 refills of noodles and the pork fillings are overwhelming. There’s also a side of red pickled ginger, toasted sesame seeds and mushroom strips. The noodles are firm enough, just the way I like it.
The shop itself is a typical ramen shop I see in vlogs with very limited seating capacity and very narrow. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the...
