Best abura soba I've had in Tokyo! This spot is located relatively close to Ueno, in an extremely tiny shop that is easily missed. The inside only has 5 stools all at a counter seat, so definitely do not come here with a group! That being said, this was some of the best abura soba I've tried in Tokyo. The toppings in the deluxe bowl included a ton of green onion and ground sesame seeds, along with chicken teriyaki, a poached egg and some fresh greens. After its all mixed up, theres an amazing shoyu taste that comes from the oil beneath which coats all the noodles. The chicken teriyaki is very flavorful and all the ingredients work amazingly together! As I ate, I also added tons of minced garlic which is on the table, along with some japanese mayo. Incredible!

Other reviews are saying it was their most favorite food in Japan - you’d be skeptical, thinking it would be some fancy sushi place, but you’d be wrong! I 100% agree that this was by far the tastiest meal I had in Japan. I had one of the options with an egg on top. It’s very simple ordering from the ticket vending machine and giving your ticket to the chef. Chef was friendly, and provided an English menu. This is a classic, hole in the wall spot that only seats 5 people at a time, so no reservations or large groups, perfect for solo eating.

Truly one of the best abura soba you can find in Tokyo. Rich flavor that by some magic still tastes light and refreshing, especially if you’re generous with the vinegar and chili oil. The teriyaki chicken is mildly sweet and you’d be begging for more, the noodles are extra bouncy and extra curly and thick. Great balance overall, highly recommended when you’re in Ueno. Service and atmosphere are atypical of a small eatery in Tokyo so nothing in particular stands out, but it's clean and efficient.
