RACIST CASHIER STAFFS Very disappointing experience!
The cashier staffs were very disrespectful and impolite to foreigners who don’t speak Japanese but need help. When I was misunderstood, they did not try to communicate to solve the problem or offered help, instead they ignored all my words. The staffs treated me bad were a young girl and an old man at the cashier.
All cashier staffs I met in Japan were so helpful and nice. Even they don’t speak English, they will try their best and are very eager to help except cashiers in this shop who make customers feel disrespected and discriminated against.
The worst shopping experience in Japan.
When it’s my turn to check out, I walked to one of the staffs at the cashier after the previous customer had left. The staff, a young girl, saw me and told me to go back to the line and I thought she misunderstood us jumping the line so I told her that actually I’m the next one to pay and I could just wait in front of her. She insisted on telling us to go back. I listened to her and went back to the line.
However, she literally skipped me when she’s ready and told the customer standing behind me to pay. I then asked why it is not my turn as I was always queuing, not jumping the line. That staff did not try to figure out what is going on but simply told me to queue the line again from the very back. She ignored my words and did not even look at me at all when I was talking to her. She also made other staffs think I jumped the line as well so all staffs skipped me and asked customers stood behind me to pay first. This is ridiculous.
I tried to use my body language and very simple English words to explain the situation to the other staffs but they still thought I was jumping the line which make me really mad and really disappointed since I feel like not being respect and no staffs...
Read moreShopped here on a recent trip to Tokyo and decided to go to this branch and not the one in Okachimachi. Both branches are within 800m to 1km walk from my hotel but the route to Ueno branch pass by the park so it's a more pleasant stroll. Plus this branch is open until 4am.
The usual tourist haul are available here and although some items may be cheaper in drugstores I didn't have the time to go to different stores and pick only a few items. I think the tax free price would compensate for the slight price difference.
The area near Ueno branch is lined with bars so the store ia not really crowded. There's a bit of a line at the tax free counter but it moves along quite nicely.
Items are packed to be opened and consumed outside Japan. Bring an extra bag or 2 if you intend do you some...
Read moreRude, inconsiderate and entitled staff, all 5 of them in the front registers.
I had more than 20,000 yen worth of stuff in my cart, and they wouldn't throw away a tiny piece of trash I had (wooden stick of an ice cream bar) claiming that "There is no trash in Japan".
If so, dear nitwits, then why did the clerk at Family Mart throw my trash out when I purchased a 100 yen drink? It's called customer service.
I understand rejecting a random passer by, but rejecting a customer paying 20,000 yen? Needless to say I didn't buy anything and left the store.
I have been here for 20 days, this is the first time someone refused to help me dispose of trash when I was a...
