I was excited to visit this bakery after seeing some beautiful photos online. However, the timing of my visit perhaps wasn't ideal, as I couldn't enjoy a peaceful atmosphere at the café. Despite securing my desired items by phone prior to my visit, the experience fell short. Although I got a seat immediately, the café was overcrowded and lacked a relaxing vibe.
While I appreciated the option to pre-order, I was disappointed that when I indicated I'd be dining in, only the cake was plated nicely. The other two items were left in plastic bags, unlike other guests who received their bread in charming baskets. Furthermore, the latte art on my coffee wasn't very neat, contributing to a slightly sloppy attitude from the staff.
Regarding the food, the carrot cake was a standout for me. However, the carrot corone was a tad dry, despite enjoying the filling. The peanut cream sandwich didn't appeal to me; the cream tasted overwhelmingly like butter, leaving a fatty and unpleasant sensation in my mouth.
Despite these shortcomings, I might give the bakery another chance, but definitely not on a weekend when...
Read moreHigurashi Bakery offers a perfect blend of quality, flavor, and ambiance. I had the pleasure of trying several items, and each one stood out in its own way.
The matcha latte was smooth and well-balanced, with a rich matcha flavor that wasn’t overpowering. The caffe latte was equally impressive — creamy, aromatic, and beautifully presented.
Among the pastries, the chocolate croissant had a perfectly flaky texture and just the right amount of chocolate. The pistachio pastry was unique and delicately sweet, with a nutty depth that pistachio lovers will appreciate. Most surprising (in the best way) was the eggplant pastry a savory twist that was flavorful and satisfying.
The bakery has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee or looking to try something new from their pastry case, Higurashi Bakery is a must visit.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Tokyo especially those looking for high quality coffee and thoughtfully...
Read moreI highly recommend this Cafe! My fiance and brother accompanied me and we decided this was our favorite Cafe in Japan so far! We have gone to several, but this one had such a relaxing environment, many cute babies that were well-behaved with their mothers, such good puff pastries, and delicious coffee. I was a barista for a high end Cafe and this coffee was just as good, very well-made.
My brother tried many items, but especially loved the coffee (caramel latte) and strawberry Danish; my fiance loved his sugar donut twist and enjoyed his coffee (caramel latte); I loved the pain au chocolate (mocha). It was so flaky!!!
We ate our items so fast, we didn't get many pictures... We will...
