Anyway, the restaurant is very small. There are two tables (8 seats) near the entrance and about 5 counter seats at the back of the restaurant, but when people are seated facing each other at the tables, there is almost no space for people behind the chairs to pass through (it is so narrow that people in chairs at aisle side can finally pass through by packing in front of them). There is also a step at the entrance, which is not recommended at all for people with wheelchairs or other disabilities. It's also not recommended to enter the restaurant with large luggage. People sitting on the aisle side of the tables may not be able to eat calmly, as they have to keep their chairs packed in front of them or behind them every time customers come and go from the counter seats. Although the restaurant's structure is a major drawback, the dishes themselves are satisfying selection. The curry roux made from stewed Japanese beef tails is soaked in the fatty meat of the tails and is rich but not heavy. Basically, the dish is topped with a meaty tail bone, but of course, the tail bone is not something that can be chewed, so you can order it to be removed. The restaurant is also unique in that the walls are filled with the signatures of various visitors. Magic markers are always available at the counter, and if you have the owner's permission, you can write on it (although there is already almost no space for writing). The owner is the only one running the restaurant, and since we were there during an empty time of the day, there were no problems at all with customer service. However, during busy times, the speed of ordering and serving slows down, and depending on the number of people coming to the restaurant and what they ordered, the service may become curt...

A friend invited me to get dinner with him here on my last evening in Japan.

What an amazing experience at this restaurant. It's small, very home-y, and full of character -- from the delicious food, to the friendliest staff, to the thoroughly decorated walls with signatures and messages from hundreds of happy customers over the years.

I had: beer, two appetizers (simmered pork I believe and a stew sort of like nikujaga but I also don't know its proper name 🥲), and the oxtail curry. The flavor profiles were amazing and more refined than other restaurants where I've had similar foods in Japan.

All I can finish with is this: this shop, already so full of character and history, was gracious enough to include me in it.

I will make sure to return on my next...

Wow! This is a good Japanese curry restaurant. Hiroo is a district near Shibuya. No English menu. The chef here knows his curry and is super nice. I had the pork cutlet curry 1380 yen with a croquette. The curry was liquid gold. It was mild spicy with great texture. There's a little container of grilled onions on the table if you want to add some. I noticed there weren't carrots or potatoes in the curry. The pork cutlet was thick and perfectly cooked surrounded by a nice crunchy breading. It is worth the walk from Hiro-o station off the Hibiya Line to visit. I liked the J-pop background music. It adds to...
