HUB Ueno Shinobazu St. — Restaurant in Tokyo

Surprisingly good at emulating the pub experience. A must for those feeling homesick for Great Britain in Japan (for whatever reason). The pub is spacious, has a designated smoking area, mandatory TVs with football etc. The Hub Ale is delicious. For some reason, on Reddit, people seem to trash the whole chain, but I quite liked it. There were no freaky 外人 or anything, just delicious beer and a great pub ambiance. A solid finish to a long walk in Ueno park.

We spent only 50 minutes here, we ordered a tower of beer and a glass of mocktail and some snacks. Once we finish last drink, staff came and clear all stuff on our table immediately. I know that we could leave after finish all drinks and foods but shouldn't be that fast. I think It was not the way for cheering up another drink as well. It was not busy at all at that time. And we spent money there with member card. I like HUB, anyway. But...

Be careful at this place. Unfortunately the bar staff can't be trusted. I had to argue with both barmen when they gave me change for a 5000yen note even though I gave them a 10,000 yen note. I had just come from an ATM so only had 10,000 yen notes. After 5 minutes argument it became clear that both bar staff were working together to skim the till.
