Kurofunetei — Restaurant in Tokyo

Ordered the special hayashi rice. It was a treat as always. The beef and onion sauce was super decadent and rich. I enjoy pairing each soup of rice and sauce with the pickled onions. The tartness of the pickles cut into the richness very well and bring balance to each mouthful.

The wagyu served was very tender and melted in my mouth immediately on contact. The onions were in thick and juicy cuts and were a joy to eat. They were not just a supporting cast to the beef but a star of their own show.

There was too little rice to soak up the rich sauce so I ordered an extra serving of rice. The rice provided the perfect canvas for the rich condiments.

Really enjoyed my meal there. If you come during peak periods, be prepared to wait up to 1hr! I usually find off-peak times to go to...

【1〜3枚目】 「オムライス ハーフ(850円)」

オムライスはハーフサイズを注文。 見た目はまさに王道のケチャップオムライスといったところで、オムレツのきめ細やかさが、美味しさを物語っているかのよう。

そんな艶やかなオムレツはややよく焼き、厚めのタイプで、バターをふんわりと感じる。

そして特徴的だったのがチキンライス。 水分が非常に少なく、パラパラとした仕上がりと固めのチキンライスで、オムレツを開けた瞬間に香るほどのバターの香りが印象的。 またブイヨンで炊き上げているそうで、風味が豊かさは他のオムライスとは一線を画している。 具材は鶏肉に玉ねぎ、マッシュルーム、にんじん、そして中央部に大きな海老。 具材の多さにも驚かされた。

ケチャップも個人的にはお気に入りで、通常のケチャップよりも酸味が少なく、甘味があるためか多くかけても嫌な感じがしない。

ハーフサイズではあるが、ボリューム感もそこそこあるので、色々頼みたい方にはハーフサイズがオススメ。

【4〜5枚目】 「ハヤシライス ハーフ(990円)」

「黒船亭」さんは1週間煮込んで作る特製デミグラスソースが人気だそうで、そのデミグラスソースを使ったメニューの中からハヤシライスのハーフサイズを注文。

出てきたのは老舗洋食店によくある黒く濃いハヤシライスとは異なり、茶色が強い懐かしいタイプのハヤシソース。

見た目通りマイルドな味わいで、トマトがやや強いためか、甘味がある。 万人受けする味わいであった。

具材も豊富で、玉ねぎやマッシュルーム、そしてかなり大きなサイズの牛肉がたっぷりと入っており、この牛肉がトロトロに煮込まれていて絶品の一言。

ハーフサイズでも他店の1人前くらいの満足度はあるので、もしシェアできるならこちらも注文することをオススメする。

JR上野駅から黒船亭に初めて訪れる場合は、 まず京成上野駅や上野公園の方角を目指して進んでください。 事前に電話して予約することをおススメします。

店内はアンティーク調のインテリアが配置され、洗練された空間が広がっています。

私はJALダイナミックパッケージにあるびっくりオプションのメニュー 『黒船亭Aセット＋ドリンク・デザート』 を頂きました。他にも、洋食を中心に幅広く取り揃えられ、 オムライス、ハンバーグ、エビフライなどの定番料理から、 牛フィレステーキやロブスターのグリルなどの高級感ある料理まで楽しむことができます。 また、季節の食材を生かした限定メニューも提供されています。

Kurofune-tei is located in downtown Ueno. It is located a few minutes' walk from JR and subway Ueno Station. (The website says it is 4 minutes from the Shinobazu ticket gate, but you won't get there in 4 minutes.)
