il Cardinale Ginza — Restaurant in Tokyo

I recently visited IL Cardinale Ginza for my birthday dinner and it was an absolute disaster. When my girlfriend and I arrived, the restaurant was completely empty, but the waiter was extremely rude when I requested a window seat for the occasion. He informed me that the window seat was only for people who had made a reservation, which was fair enough.

However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when another couple arrived after us and were seated in the best seat in the house with a beautiful view. They didn't show any proof of reservation, so it was incredibly frustrating to be denied a window seat while someone else was given one.

To make matters worse, when we placed our order for a pizza and a pasta to share, the waiter came back after five minutes and informed us that we had to order two pastas instead of sharing one. When I asked why, he simply shouted "no" at me and pointed to my girlfriend, insinuating that she wasn't worthy of a full pasta dish.

I couldn't believe the level of disrespect we received from the staff at this restaurant. Are they trying to say that people who can't afford to order two pastas aren't allowed to dine at their establishment? Or worse, are they looking down on foreigners like myself?

To top it all off, we ended up leaving the restaurant with no dinner on my birthday and had to walk home in the pouring rain. Thanks a lot, IL Cardinale Ginza, for ruining my special day and treating us with such disdain. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I certainly won't be returning.

Had been on a holiday with the family and found this place accidently as the other places where abit much at Ginza six. Decided to reward myself and ordered the Hot Grilled Black Angus steak, was beautifully presented and tasted amazing, definitely one of the best T-bone steaks I have had the pleasure of trying.
