TLDR: Ripped off. Try any of the other Korean places around it.
We went to Itaro for an all-you-can-drink package for 2000 Yen, and I feel as though we got ripped off. Coming from Australia, we expected a little language barrier, so we confirmed with the service person what the package included: we were told it was all you can drink for 2000 Yen and that it included everything on the drinks menu. We proceeded to drink beer and eat fried chicken, and ended up ordering two bottles of Asahi and a bottle of Soju (a Korean Spirit).
Fifteen minutes after we ordered these drinks we were approached by the wait staff (a different person this time) and told we would have to pay for them, as they weren't included. They admitted that it was their mistake, but that we still had to pay. I'm all for understanding a misunderstanding, but anywhere else I feel like they would have waived the price of the small amount of drinks and let us keep going and enjoying the night - and probably ordering more food.
I feel shafted and it has left a bad taste in my mouth; dampened one of my few nights in Tokyo. I recommend ANY of the other Korean places on the same street - some of which we have tried, most of which offer all-you-can-drink packages, and none of which have ruined my night. So far as such to make me write a review for the first time ever. PLEASE DON'T GO HERE.
Edit: the only reasons I gave it two stars and not one is that the fried chicken is not terrible and the drinks are not...
Read moreWe are from Germany and absolutely adore the food here. The Korean chicken was incredibly delicious. The service was friendly, and they even spoke to us in English, which made us feel so much more comfortable and welcomed. Unfortunately, we ordered a bit too much, but they kindly offered to pack the leftovers for us to take home, which was greatly appreciated. The atmosphere was really enjoyable, with fitting music and a simple yet beautiful ambience.
We arrived in the evening and found the atmosphere particularly inviting. I had the impression that our takeout request might have inconvenienced the staff, and I want to apologize for any trouble it may have caused. We truly didn't mean to upset anyone. Thank you for the excellent service and the delicious meal! We will definitely be...
Read moreKorean BBQ restaurant. We’ve been ignored since we first came in. The staff is nowhere to be seen. Luckily, there is a Vietnamese staff so it makes the ordering time much quicker for us. Maybe, you are wondering “why you need a Vietnamese when you are in Japan”, lol if they have a staff why can’t I speak to them. He was nice, patient since we ask him for recommendation on the menu since there are no English, there are Korean and Japanese tho… Food was awesome btw, can’t complain about those, we ordered a set of meat and some fried side dishes. They were delicious. Gotta go back to the restaurant...
