Came here with a Japanese friend who was working in the area. I didn't know what to expect as this seem really high-end and classy, which was what I usually would not visit. It's situated right beside Mandarin Oriental, and just a minute's walk from the Mitsuokoshimae subway station. Refer to the last 3 photos below for how it looks like from the outside.

When you walk in, you will already be pleasantly surprised by the environment, which had dim lighting and really nice decor and artwork. The restaurant was fairly big and spacious, so there wasn't any issues with finding a seat even when we came at dinner time. The staff gave us space to slowly decide what we wanted, and gave us recommendations on what their best dishes were. Although somewhat pricey, it was something unsurprising due to the location right in Nihonbashi. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and it was delicious. (I forgot to take pictures of the food but only managed to snap one of the soba)

We stayed till we were the last customers to leave, and even then the staff didn't rush us to leave or anything. We only realised when we stopped talking and saw that there wasn't anyone else left. Overall, I would recommend this place if you have a bit more cash to spend and if you're...

Blatant racist experience here for foreigners. Foreigners seemed unwelcomed.

We luckily had our hotel, the Shangri-La, concierge call ahead of coming to make sure restaurant was opened at 3pm. The restaurant stated it takes last call for lunch at 3:50pm. We walked over by 3:09pm and when entered, was told by the young male host that the restaurant was closed. I rebutted and stated that our hotel just called, at which point he said 'oh' and proceeded to sit us down and rush us to order.

Not even 5 minutes later another table of 3 Japanese locals entered and were served without any issues. There was also a table with an older Japanese couple sitting outside on the patio by the time we were done.

Essentially would not have been invited to dine since we were foreigners if it wasn't for the help of our hotel concierge calling beforehand. Food was okay. Would never return. Rest of the servers and workers were fantastic. Really just the male host that would've been the barrier to access that...

Terrible customer service! We went with a group of 8 and later 2 more people joined. The waiter doesn’t welcome us to combine the two tables or seating in a more compact way. He even lied to our friend who just walked into the restaurant saying “we don’t have a group of foreigners here.” In the end our friend found us by looking through the glass window but how can a staff at the restaurant plainly lied to their customers?!

Their attitude in serving us was also terrible and impolite. For example, we ordered a small bottle of wine and asked for 7 glasses and the waiter insisted we can only have 3 glasses for a small bottle. We just wanted to have a toast with everyone but they are totally not flexible in helping! Even at the time when we paid the staff showed an angry face to us behind the mask yes we noticed that and thank you!!!

Food and location is good but I am very disappointed with such unwelcoming and unprofessional behavior of the staffs! An angry 1-star review...

4.5 / 5.0 - My family and I came here for a weekend lunch and it was exactly what we were looking for—spacious seating and great food, very reasonably priced. We had made a reservation in advance, since we were a group of 9 including 6 adults and 3 kids. There was some seating available around us, so you can probably walk in and be seated without much wait if you’re a smaller group. They have a variety of Japanese lunch sets to choose from, including both meat and fish options as well as soba. I chose the Otsukuri Moriawase Gozen (1,680 yen), which is a Sashimi Set with sashimi, 2 side dishes, rice, Japanese pickles and miso soup. My dad ordered Lunch of the Day (1,300 yen), which had Hamachi (yellowtail) as the main dish. He really enjoyed it and was surprised at how high the cost performance was. Others ordered the Salmon Set (1,380 yen) and Tempura Soba Set (1,900 yen). They didn’t have the most attentive service, especially on refilling tea, but we had a nice meal overall.
