This review is for their sister store Good food ruined by poor customer service to foreigners. I visited twice in two days. The toast bun burger is an interesting concept and it was delicious. However no matter how good the food is, if your mood is ruined even the best burger can taste sub-par.
One particular staff wearing a green cap was not very friendly towards foreigners on my first visit taking my order. She was very blunt. Once we finished the meal we couldn't find the bins as they are tucked away behind a covered fence from where we were sitting at the front of the shop so we left our rubbish on the table assuming the staff would clean it. There were no signs to indicate this was a self-service establishment (I suggest to leave stickers on the table so all customers know).
I will 100% admit to this mistake. However, I even saw a local customer struggling to find the bin and so that staff member happily took his tray for him. For us foreigners however, she took our trays from the table and emptied it into the bin aggressively when we were walking out.
Second visit it was a different staff member taking my order. The same staff wearing a green cap was behind her in the kitchen. Once I paid, the green cap staff said something to the other staff member in Japanese. That staff then told me to throw away my rubbish once I am finished. That's when I knew that the green cap staff remembered and held a grudge.
Our food came, and this is what we were served (attached). Half of a whole tomato on both burgers. It made the burger messy and difficult to eat. I've never seen anyone make a burger like this. I'm confident this was done on purpose, which is very petty from the staff considering we are paying customers. And of course, learning from my mistake we put our trash in the bin.
We are not rude people by nature so I was disappointed and embarassed to be treated this way. Apologies if we have caused offence. I would have raised this with the staff however their English is not great compared to the Owner. So I will let them...
Read moreThey have a bathroom and group seating, but you have to walk upstairs.
This place is a delight. It’s next to Yoyogi Station, and the bright, rustic exterior can’t be missed.
First, you order at the window. Then go upstairs (3F) to grab a counter seat by the window or take your food to-go. They will bring you your order.
The price was surprisingly affordable. A cheeseburger + drink + fries is about ¥800.
Everything is freshly made, including the bread, meat patty, pickles, and mayonnaise.
The inside smells terrific—like a bakery, of course. The seating area is a bit narrow, but there are 2 tables for groups of 4, and about 4 counter seats by the window.
The bread is so good and buttery. Yeah, your hands will probably get greasy after eating your burger, but you can go downstairs and wash your hands in the sink outside the bathroom.
If you’re around the area, I highly recommend this plate. Cheaper than McDonald’s and much, much better quality and service for those craving a real,...
Read moreWe made the mistake of dining here for lunch. The “cashier” told us 20-30 minutes max. We were outside in the 35 celsius heat waiting for 30 minutes for no reason while the seating place on top of the restaurant was empty. Nobody cared to tell us to go sit and wait. Even upstairs it is completely hot despite them having a useless AC. What was even more annoying is that they served 10 people who came after us and they were just there for pickup with harder orders. We just ordered two burgers, two fries and two drinks. They even server a group of 4 people who came after us!
In regards to the food, Burger was just oily and not cooked correctly. The two cooks making the burgers are wearing gloves which they use to touch on everything from carton boxes, to metal clips and of course your burger patties (have been looking at them while waiting outside for 30 minutes...)440 yen for 10 frozen chips is also a joke. Avoid...
