Kagurazaka Sushi Rin — Restaurant in Tokyo

Poor service and no reservation integrity. Ruined our Valentine’s Day.

My girlfriend and I booked a reservation (via google reserve) for two on Valentine’s day a month and a half in advance on our three day trip to Tokyo. We planned our day around this reservation and arrived 5 minutes ahead of time.

Upon arrival, an employee nearly shoved us out the door before we could give our name, saying they were fully booked for the evening. After showing our reservation, another employee came out insisting our reservation was cancelled. We showed her the multiple email confirmations, and she realized they missed this in our system. Instead of offering a solution, apologizing or acknowledging wrong doing in any way (and how this affected our trip let alone Valentine’s Day) she said they maybe could accommodate us later but couldn’t give a confirmed time.

This is incredibly disappointing experience, especially give our short trip to Tokyo and planning around this reservation. Of course, every other elevated option was already booked for tonight when we went searching in the cold. I would not book this restaurant if you expect your reservation be honored and any sympathy over their mistakes. This was unacceptable and we will...

My wife and I came here for our first ever Omakase experience and it was well worth it. A beautiful restaurant where you are up close to the brilliant chefs. It is an art form in itself watching them prepare the courses. The sushi is exceptional!

Service is top notch. For foreign tourists there is no English menu (only drinks of course) but the sushi chefs and waiters/waitresses can guide you through the menu.

Definitely recommend trying their sake...
