First off, the food is good. I went for the lunch special this time and for a reasonable price, it was delicious. But this restaurant has a problem.
The service is sometimes okay and sometimes terrible. The first time I tried going here was maybe 3 years ago. We went for dinner, waited 10 minutes for a table but then the waiter was so rude. Dismissively parked us at a table and disappeared. After 10 minutes at the table we flagged down a waiter so we could ask for a menu. Then after waiting another 5 minutes we decided to leave. I vowed never to return.
But, that was 3 years ago, maybe we should try again? We went for lunch today, the waiter was nice and we ordered our food. The food was very good but then the waiter disappeared. I wanted some water so I tried to flag down this waiter but he was busy talking to a beautiful girl for over 5 minutes. I tried to flag him down 3 times shouting in Japanese, English and French... Excuse me! Sumimasen! Pardon! Nothing, he ignored me. I finally got his attention and we asked for some water.
He came back after several minutes and kind of slammed the water bottle on the table and walked away. This is skinny short guy with glasses and a pony tail.
Then it was time for dessert and coffee. The couple at the table next to ours along with us waited and waited. The other couple found a waiter and asked about the dessert and the waiter apologized that the chef didn't know they ordered dessert and coffee. We all waited about 20 more minutes and finally got our coffee and desserts. The coffees were all cold.
It's such a shame that the service is so bad when the food is pretty good. I would give the food 7 out of 10 and the service a 2 out of 10. I really hope the owner reads this and handles...

Forked in an other 1,000¥ for them to eat fish. What a joke! Entrée terrine was ok, remoulade celery came from a tin- our meat was served cold, just a poor steak with only onions for veggies. The girls fish came with TWO mussels, slice was tiny. They only give you one slice of bread, want more? Fork an extra 150¥... We ordered champagne and at 1,500¥ a glass had to ask the garçon to top it up. Dessert was less than average, and we weren't told we had to pay an other 150¥ to be served our expresso. Service was inattentive, the blond guy didn't even pretend to hear politely my complaint about not being told beforehand about the extra 150¥ expresso charge... How rude and dishonest...
Run away!
What a joke! The worst 16,000¥ spent ever on food... Well, learning from mistakes. Next time, we will go...

The restaurant has a varied and classy clientele - and many were arriving for dinner between 7-8pm giving it a European late-dining feel. Wonderful varied menu of high quality French cooking. The ‘ouef en meurette’ was heavenly, the beef Bourgogne is a signature dish, and the cheese selection is amazing. The service was friendly and attentive with lots of advice on food and drink selection.
