This was some of the best katsu and fried oysters I've ever eaten! The coating was crisp and more flaky than most, and the pork was incredibly tender! I ordered one of the weekend/holiday specials, a pork roast katsu (rōsu katsu) and fried oysters (kaki fry) set (teishoku). This comes with pickles and salad that can be refilled freely (which is great because I prefer salad to rice with my katsu), a lovely dark red miso soup (akadashi), and rice (shiso or plain). I had the salad dressing at the table, Yuzu Shoyu (Citron and soy sauce), which I used for the salad and also my katsu. They also have a regular katsu sauce and a spicy katsu sauce, which were also delicious. The fried oysters were served with a wedge of fresh lemon, and they tasted divine with just that. I genuinely felt they didn't need tartar sauce or any other trappings. Honestly some of the best oysters I've had in awhile, and I come from a region famous for its oysters. Of course, it's pricier than a fast food katsu place, but it's also probably the best katsu I've ever had. The atmosphere is lovely as well, though it does get crowded. I made a reservation before going, though when I arrived at noon it wasn't crowded yet. If you don't want to wait around, I recommend making a reservation, especially if you're coming in the...

Came here for late dinner and was able to get a seat at the counter with no wait time. Had the tonkatsu set with two fried oysters. The portion size for the rice, cabbage, miso soup and sides were very generous, and for the rice you can choose between plain white or shiso; I had the shiso rice which had a subtle flavor but was a nice change from plain rice. Pork loin was a pretty thick cut and on the leaner side but was tender and not dry at all; and the panko was very crispy, perfectly coated. The oysters were big and also had a thick crispy panko coating; it was very tasty with the tartare sauce. There are plenty of condiments to change up the flavor; two different sauces for the tonkatsu and two types of dressings for the cabbage. There is also salt if you want to enhance the natural taste of the pork and mustard to pair with the fattier cuts. Overall it was a very tasty and satisfying meal, on the pricier side but there is free re-fill of rice, cabbage and sides....
Read more(English friendly) This restaurant is designed in a traditional, Japanese manner. The bar-side seating allows you to see into most of the kitchen but there’s also standard table seating and even tatami room alcoves for larger parties and reservations. While the fried food selection and combos are quite yummy, the price did not justify the traditional tonkotsu (pork) dish I selected. The coating was too flaky and at times fell off the meat itself. The breading did not hold up well in even a light sauce. The sauce selection is fun but beware that you won’t receive many plates to place the sauces on; you may need to drip directly onto the pieces if you want to try all 4 sauces! There is English on the menu so us foreigners can just point. The overall presentation was good but I think I should’ve opted for no rice and soup combo (-6000¥!). The rice was a bit sticky and not thoroughly mixed. Overall, a nice meal for the area in a very relaxing setting! The cold tea, not water, is quite...
